Has been a bit quiet this year so far. Not mellowing, just working behind the scenes. Have recently taken over the historic (to some of us older members of the Auckland Steam Engine Soc anyway) the compound engine built by the late Les Bodle in the ’60s. Lovely old engine. It was fitted for a short time in a 30′ boat named Maybe. Maybe it will go back into another boat before too long. Her name? Maybe ll of course! Keep you posted!
A couple of coming events over the next few months for your winter pleasure. Check out coming events |

CASTLEMAINE
A WW2 Bathurst Class Corvette/Minesweeper (one of many built in Australia) and lovingly restored to original working condition by a Melbourne group of enthusiasts. The RNZN had four of these ship and we agonised as the last was scrapped in Auckland in the 70s. At least some of the parts found their way to the Castlemaine |
